About Lineage II

Lineage II is a massively multiplayer online RPG with a 3D world; it is often associated with Unreal Engine–style visuals and a focus on large battles and long character progression.

Character and growth

You create a hero, pick a race and look; which side of the global story you join usually does not follow from basic settings — later it is shaped by choices, clan, and server. One account can hold several characters (limits follow publisher or admin rules).

Stats and skills grow with level and quests; you can level in PvE, in groups, or mixed activities — meta depends on the chronicle.

Combat modes

PvE — hunting monsters, dungeons, and world bosses. Core farming and learning your class.

PvP — player fights: from random open-world clashes to organised battles. Rules and “red” zones depend on location and server settings.

Duel — agreed duel; usually without the consequences of sudden open PvP.

PK — attacking your own faction outside agreed rules; the game uses penalties and karma-style systems to limit abuse.

Clans and scale

Clan wars and castle sieges are part of the endgame: they tie economy, territory, and team preparation. You do not need them to start, but for many players this is where long-term motivation to stay in the Lineage world comes from.
